The Air Jordan 1 Mid ‘Reverse Banned’ sneaker pays homage to the Air Jordan 1 ‘Black/Red’: the shoe that was notoriously thought to have been banned by the NBA in 1985. As the story goes, Michael Jordan was penalized and charged $5,000 per game for wearing them, which was later utilized as a marketing tactic in the Nike ‘Banned’ campaign. The mid-top version features a Gym Red, black and white colorway, with a bright red outsole.
